@tequiero21: that is pretty standard around here. But factor in the cost of classes, and daycare is WAY cheaper than a nanny.

- we offer our nanny 2 weeks' paid vacation (1 week of her choosing, 1 week of our choosing)
- paid holidays
- 5 paid personal days
- paid time off any time we're traveling (we went to the philippines for 2 1/2 weeks recently)
- time and a half overtime

that's about it. we give a very nice birthday gift, christmas gift, christmas bonus (1 week's pay), and a yearly raise.

as a nanny i get 2 weeks of personal time (sick/vacation time are the same for me), paid holidays follow the same schedule as my bosses company, plus any time off they choose not to use me. any trips they want to take me on i get my own room & meals & travel included. i don't get health benefits, but i'm on my husband's policy, so i still have ins. i get a gym membership & they very generously offer me use of their vacation home when it's available & i'm not working. i am expected to have my own car with ins & a cell phone on me. i get paid hourly for overtime, but not time & a half at this job (have had some with 1.5).

since our nanny is a short-term nanny (Sept.- end of Dec.), we don't offer her many benefits, however she is "salaried" for the time we have her, she makes time and a half when she works beyond the set hours, and she can obviously take sick days occasionally.

ETA: If we kept our nanny full-time we would offer her more sick days and paid vacation time and pay for transportation (metrocard).

we give our nanny sick days, vacation days and pay for her monthly metrocard. i think part time nannies get less benefits, but it is still nice to get paid if they are sick or want to take a vacation one is while. i have found that if you like your nanny and your kid likes your nanny, you want to keep them happy and some benefits go a long way. (btw, we are in brooklyn). have you checked out the psp nanny survey, it has a lot of great info about some common benefits.

for those with nannies, do you offer any benefits? if so, what do you offer? do you offer only for full-time or for part-time as well?
