Well, last year was the first year they took all of them. The kids were 6 and 3.5. That seemed like a great age. They started when the oldest were both 2 and that was too young. My 2 year old also came at ages 1 and 2 and still really enjoyed it but mainly for the cookies and hot chocolate. Ours was a branded Polar Express one so my son really enjoyed seeing the actors dressed like the characters in the book (and even insisted on wearing a button down pj set with a bathrobe over so he looked like the main character). Your 5 year old will love it. I think around 5 is perfect. That is, unless they’re sensitive to noise—train whistles are LOUD.
