However, the economic divide makes me really sad, even though it's a part of life in most parts of the country. Maybe it's just more pronounced in my part of the state since it's NYC suburbs territory? Honestly, the family-friendly atmosphere was one of our biggest reasons for moving here. We really want to raise our kids in a safe, child-focused environment. Being in a single parent family doesn't exactly put a kid at risk. Also, religious education isn't a good factor, either. The study in itself bugs me...I don't like to put everyone of a state into one category. It's interesting, though. I guess it depends on your core values. I think it's a great place to raise a child. We have access to everything in DC and there is a lot of history in VA as well.
