Most BBT thermometers take longer than standard thermometers. It helps them be more accurate.

If you do buy another one online, pay attention to the reviews on the noise it makes. I had one that beeped several times while taking my temperature. That was really annoying.

My favorite one was the CVS brand one. It wasn't quick either though.

I think mine is easy at home brand. It was bigger than I expected but stores a lot of temps and worked really well for me.

I am not sure if you can get this from Amazon, I bought mine from Walmart in-store. It worked great for me and was cheap. I just wanted to make sure to get one that remembered the temp later on, since I took my temp in the dark and didn't want to turn on lights. So I read and recorded it later.

Hi there! (forever lurker, first time poster)

I'm in my first month of charting and the cheapo BBT I bought off Amazon without reading the reviews is not working out--it takes 4 minutes to register a temperature and has no memory function. I could live with the lack of memory function, but the 4 minutes is killer in the morning (and also--so uncomfortable!)

I'm hoping for this to be a long term birth control method, so I'm okay with making the investment if the best choice is more expensive-I'm just not having much luck sorting through options on Amazon.

What are you using? Any suggestions?

Thank you so much!
