It's set in the past (I think the turn of the century?).... this man (lighthouse keeper) and his wife live on an isolated island all alone... they try to have a baby but she has miscarriage after miscarriage. Then, a baby shows up on the shore with a man dead inside the boat. They struggle with the decision to either report it or keep the baby as their own and see it as a sign from God.
