There are holes in the bottom of the turf for it to run off into the tray. I just got a "stem" for it. It's this flower attachment that you can place in the grass and provides extra storage space. I LOVE it for holding my small pump parts and they don't get lost in the grass. I would wash the bottles, put them in the sterilizer and then just put them in between towels to dry.
