We used Thirsties X-Small covers. All of them were too big when she was first born, since she was a peanut at 6 lb 9 oz. I think we really started using the prefolds around 2 weeks and the Bummis worked best then. It was much smaller than the others, though, so she outgrew it quickly. The Thirsties cover fit for the longest and did a good job, I'd say it was overall our favorite. We also really liked the Imse Vimse cover, but for some reason they didn't send us that smallest size so it took awhile for her to get big enough for it to fit. We were pretty meh about the Flip cover with snaps, I found it irritating to use and DH was constantly snapping it wrong. The only cover we had that I really hated was a pull-up one, I think it might have been by Bummis (?)...DH really liked that one, though. </p> <p>Anyway, we decided not to continue with the diaper service after I went back to work so we never ended up buying more -- we had a few duplicates of the ones I mentioned above so I think the most we ever had in rotation at one time was 5. I like the Rumparooz best. Blueberry and Bummis are tied for second. I didn't like the Thirsties cover that I had - the quality didn't seem very good.</p> <p>I've had as few as 5 covers in rotation, when I was doing laundry every other day.
