I'm going to have to go along with Mrs. Bee and say Home Alone, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas comes in a close second.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The cartoon though, not the creepy Jim Carrey version. We watched it on t.v. last night :)

One Magic Christmas was/is one of my favourites. It's sad, but has a happy ending. I love the Home Alone movies (only 1 & 2) and Miracle on 34th Street.

For adult movies, I always have to watch The Holiday and Love Actually every year! I love Christmas movies!

I, personally, am obsessed with the Muppet Christmas Carol, but it might be a little creepy for a 4 year old.
My family loves the Charlie Brown Christmas movie. Also not scary at all.
There's also the old movie "A Christmas Story." Could use that as a teaching opportunity- never lick a metal pole when it is freezing outside.

@Mrsbells: THIS.

The original Miracle on 34th Street was my absolute favorite.

And okay, this is going to sound weird but... It's a Wonderful Life. Watching it with my family in Christmas Eve was a tradition for longer than I can remember, I'm sure I must've been younger than 4 when we started.

Also, most people I know were in love with the first Home Alone movies when they were little... I hated them though, I thought they were violent and gross, lol. But you could try them.

Our 4 year old also loves Rudolph and last year he watched it way too much. My mother purchased him the other classics as well, Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus is coming to town. They are done in the same style of rudolph and there's nothing really scary either. (he doesn't like the grinch either)

DS is really into Christmas movies, already ;), this year. He is almost 4, so he actually enjoys sitting and watching a good movie. We have Netflix, so I have been trying to find him good ones to watch. His favorite so far is Christmas classics from the '50's! He likes the Rudolph one :) I would like to find some more for him though, so he doesn't have to watch the same on every day!

Do you have any suggestions for great children's Christmas movies? Or what was your favorite when you were little?

I should add, he is really scared of the Grinch :)
