@Adira: @Mae: @mrs. wagon: @littlek: Thanks so much, ladies! I just woke up from my 7:30-12:30 sleep shift. Woohoo! And called into my doctor's office. They said it sounds like I've already gotten a sinus infection from whatever jun the relatives gave me. Joy. So I can take antibiotics or wait it out, either way doesn't hurt the baby, so I'll likely go my usual hippie route and just push fluids and get lots of sleep between eating soup and breathing in steam.

Adira- No fever, thankfully, although I don't have a regular thermometer to check. But I'm feeling okay, and I can use my BBT thermometer or run out for a new, regular thermometer if I'm feeling one coming on. I'll definitely keep an eye on it!

Mae- Oh, that sounds terrible! I hope you feel better soon! I'm considering telling my husband to stay with his folks for an extra night so we can both sleep well.

Mrs. Wagon and LittleK- I'm on board with that!

Once I finish this big bowl of soup, I think I'll run to the store to get tylenol, a thermometer, Robitussin, Vick's, etc. We usually keep NO medicine in the house, but at least that keeps me from accidentally taking the wrong thing. At least I can make a "safe" medicine cabinet for now. :-)

@indi: I drank a lot of OJ and liquids. It definitely helped.

Hope you feel better! Sick while pregnant blows. I vote hot steamy bath to keep the passages moist and open, and humidifier in the bedroom. Stay in bed, lots of fluids!

I feel ya! I started with sinus issues/post nasal drip sunday night and now I feel like it has moved into a chest cold. I'm taking sudafed at the moment (I didn't want to on Monday but after hardly sleeping Monday night and checking with my doc Tuesday morning-- I caved). Now that it is more in my chest and coughing though I'm thinking of switching to Robitussan. Also at my husband's request because even though I slept a bit better last night on the sudafed I was apparently coughing all. night. long. :(

Do you have a fever at all? If you do, you should probably take Tylenol to relieve it - fevers can be bad for your baby. Although I had a HORRIBLE cold with fever when I was 5 weeks pregnant and I didn't know fevers were bad so I didn't take anything and baby was just fine, haha.

But it's definitely hard being sick and not being able to take anything!! I drink lots of OJ and tea with lemon! And then sleep as much as possible. I hope you feel better soon!! <3

@mrsmate: I hope you feel better soon! While our tea and soup are a bit different, we're doing the same thing to treat, so that's reassuring.

This has definitely moved past a cold :-( I know I said skipping work wasn't an option, but I've made it one. I've been awake more than asleep tonight and would be non-functioning at work. So I'm going to check with my doctor and spend the day hibernating and making sure I stay hydrated.

I'm sick too

OJ, ice cream for sore throat, Korean honey citron tea, hot and sour soup, and a Vicks vaporizer going full blast in our bedroom.

We spent time with relatives this weekend and now I'm sick. Blehk! The sneezy, scratchy throat, itchy feeling cold coming on. I'm drinking my OJ and having some chicken noodle soup, and I can't wait to take a hot bath. If work wasn't so crazy lately, I'd take a day off and sleep for the whole day, but that's not an option. :-(

The OB nurse said I could take Robitussin DM or Tylenol if needed, but I don't have any meds in the house, so if I buy anything it will have to wait until tomorrow. I'd prefer not to take anything, though, so I'm wondering if you bees have any great med-free remedies. Thanks in advance!
