They are much taller than most but we love them, especially since they are 5-point harness until 80lbs and then go all the way up to 120 lbs for booster. You really won't need to buy anymore car seats after getting one of theirs. They also sell an angle adjuster to help when rear-facing. Ie. So if I had put the carseat in the driver's side it would have been just fine for me. But my husband is a big guy too and drives my car maybe once a week or so. That is why we put it on the passenger side. I do have to crawl into the back and sit there to take DS in and out though. We tried 3 or 4 car seats at buy buy baby and they all fit just fine.
