I usually rinse the corned beef lightly, add to a crockpot with plain water to cover, then add 1 bottle of beer. I cook it until its fork tender (about 6 hours) and then add small whole red potatoes and baby carrots, let it go for about an hour, and then add cabbage on top. Let it go another 30 minutes, or until the cabbage is softened. I tend to like less salty corned beef, so I usually skip the extra seasoning packet.

Put cut up red potatoes and carrots in the bottom, the meat on top, cover with water (or beer or broth) and add the spice pack. Turn on low for 8 hours. Remove meat, add cabbage to water and turn in high for 30 minutes.

Just made this Sunday and it was so good!

I am making a slow cooker corned beef tomorrow, but can't find the original recipe I was going to use. Does anyone have one that they really like? One that they've used before? I am making a slow cooker corn beef tomorrow, but can't find the original recipe I was going to use. Does anyone have one that they really like?
