Also with our infant the braum ear one the doc had was not consistent at all. I use rectal temp for the infant and guess of the braum forehead for the toddler. If he had a forehead temp reading I was worried about I would check with a rectal reading. I bought a rectal but never even opened the package.. The ear thermometers don't work well in some kids and LO has super waxy ears so I wouldn't trust the read. It is SUPER fast which is the key for us with a squirmy toddler. We previously had a forehead one but it was impossible to get an accurate reading with it and we had a lot of false 98.5s! Reviews on Amazon seem mixed. </p>
