I went with Stride Rites, they measured her foot for me and fitted her properly. I bought 1 pair of semi neutral runners that she can wear with anything.

We have several pair of SKR and 2 pairs of stride rites that fit right now. LO is 10 months and wears SKR size 6 - 9 months and Stride Rite size 3. I have a bunch of Pediped, size 6 - 12 months but they are a little large right now. SKR and Stride rites tend to run a little wide. All 3 brands stay on LOs feet well.

I had several pairs of SKR for her and did not like them. Found the soles to be more inflexible than I wanted, although they do conform to early walker/foot development guidelines. Personally I like Livie and Luca and Pediped originals for early walkers.

We had the high top toms. They stayed on her feet and give them good support.

My LO wore keen last summer when she was learning to walk. Good outdoorsy shoes and sandals that can handle a few little puddles (big rubber soles.)

I got her a pair of smaller by see Kai run and I love it! Put it on her and she had no issues cruising around. Found them from MyHabit for $15.98 after 6% back via Ebates! Woot!

I strongly suggest taking them into a kid shoe like stride rite to get sized. They said at this age their feet grow at about 1/2" every 2-3 months. So of you're planning on them wearing them now it probably won't last till the fall.

C is in Robeez right now but we're going to buy her a pair of Stride Rite when she gets a little better at walking.

BTW, I heard Crocs are a fave since they're so easy to slip on. I bought a pair of fake pink Crocs at The Children's Place, but they'll probably be way too big for this season (I found them on sale a few months ago). The water shoes they have there that look like Crocs are also pretty cute and look really comfy - plus they're on sale for like $5 right now.

I'm currently looking for the some too! Although DD can't walk yet, I'm expecting her to in a few months and I want to buy something now in time for my mom's next gift box shipment for her birthday. I'm looking for high-tops (something she can wear after summer). I'm debating on these right now from Stride Rite, but I'm not loving the price tag, so I'm still looking.

I'm sure there's been a thread on this somewhere but I can't seem to find any. Any suggestions on shoes that work well for those just learning how to walk? Lo has an adorable pair of Toms but they don't stay on well. Right now i mostly put her in robeez but I'm afraid they don't offer much support for her soles or ankles.
