Phil & Ted's Lobster chair is amazing! we found it was able to work on many surfaces, but there needs to be enough of an overhang

@birdofafeather: we also have the lobster!
And agree to check specs of whatever you buy first. Not sure about others but I know that the Lobster isn’t supposed to be used with a beveled edge.

We had the same set up- just an island counter and we didn’t want to use the stools. A hook on chair is great for space saving, plus it’s so easy to clean the ground underneath because you don’t need to move the chair legs or anything. I highly recommend one with a tray that attaches.

We had the Chicco 360. It hooked on securely and the tray was very secure and a decent size. But the seat cover was pretty annoying to remove and put back on, and good got caught in the track that you could spin the seat in- every few months I took a toothpick to it to pick out the trapped dried food. It was good but had some down sides. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00YWHYX00

My friend has a lobster chair- Phil and teds I think? She uses it with the tray and it seems a little easier to clean overall. Also check your counter depths- mine barely fit the chicco one but I think the Phil and Teds is shorter.

I have the summer infant one (that was sold 5 1/2 years ago LOL) it’s held up well though we just use it occasionally. It cones apart to wash ok. I can’t think if it has much of a gap when set up though. It cones with a tray and can also be strapped to a chair to use as a booster as well which has come in handy.

We also have the Inglesina. In all honesty, our nanny hates them so much that she got the girls separate booster chairs as soon as they started solids in earnest!

As others have said, there is a big gap that causes a lot of food to fall on the floor. We bought the tray and it helps but it was annoying to me that the tray wasn't included standard. I also find it really annoying and time-consuming to remove the chair for washing. Maybe my kiddos are messier than others or I'm just not as efficient as pulling it off and re-assembling. All that said, the biggest pros in my mind are the space-saving and the portability for travel.

Love our Phil & Ted’s clip on high chair! It’s not the easiest thing to clean but we’ve had it for five years and it’s still in great condition!

We have the Ingelisina as well. Same complaint - food does fall to the floor. But it has gotten its money's worth and it washes well in the washing machine.

Another vote for the Inglesina! My only complaint is that there is about an inch gap between the table and the chair so it's easy for food to be pushed on the ground. We bought the tray that they offer thinking it might help with that but it didn't really fit so we didn't use it.

we used and liked the inglesina. it travels pretty well, washes up well (but the fabric is sort of a pain to take on and off). My nanny was able to make it sparkle just with a damp rag though.
it attaches to most tables and counters.

They don’t make these anymore but if you can find a hand me down they are totally worth it. I think they’re way easier to use and clean and can be used longer than the ones they make today.

@Mrsbells: 😝 It sort of clamps/hooks to the table or island, which functions as the tray. So it’s suspended from the top.

@Mrsbells: I want a hook on chair because we have a big island with plenty of space for it and I don’t want to use up one of my counter stools with a booster.
