Thanks all! Just ordered think baby. Fingers crossed it doesn't cause an eczema flare up!

We used Badger when DD was tiny but recently switched to thinksport because it’s so much easier to rub in. I am happy with either, though.

@Mrs. Turtle: I hate to be negative, but the Blue Lizard stuff recommended by the dermatologist caused a horrible reaction on my kids (they looked sunburned in the places I applied it). I’m sure it’s an individual thing, but for whatever reason my kittens just can’t wear it - I felt so bad because I thought I was buying a premium product! For our recent Aruba trip, I put a long sleeve rash guard suit on the baby (who isn’t such a baby, she’s two), had her wear a hat (I love the Hanna Anderson swimsuit-material hats with a neck guard - they stay in place better than floppy, tie-on hats), paired with any thicker sun cream for her face and legs - we’ve used Aveeno Baby, Neutragena Dave-specificities cream, Coppertone Baby, Waterbabies Whipped (aerosol, like a shaving foam), and Waterbabies, all with good results. Target and Walmart both should have 2-day shipping on these if you make a minimum ($25 or $35) order. The suit really was the best defense. I LOVE Target’s long sleeve sits because the smaller sizes have crotch snaps for easy dressing/diaper changes, and he material really fits seem to provide sun defense.

Have a great trip!!

I like thinkbaby, it smells good and is easy to rub in. They carry it at my cvs but I buy it on amazon for much cheaper than cvs price.

@SweetCaroline: It's weird, even the Aveeno stuff made specifically for eczema, like the wash and lotion, irritated my kid's skin so badly. Not sure what's in it that she's so sensitive to!

Blue lizard!! We used it nearly everyday during the summer. Be aware that the baby version is not waterproof, you need to reapply every hour.

However it is so gentle, I started using it on my face! Very tough to run all the way in, but my skin is so sensitive and prone to sunburn I didn’t care. 😀

Oh BOY is this is the thread for me to answer on  ! My DD is an irish-white redhead with moderate eczema and sensitive skin.

We used BabyGanics SPF 50

LINK: https://www.amazon.com/Babyganics-Mineral-Based-Sunscreen-2-Ounce-Packaging/dp/B004BYR13K/ref=sr_1_9_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1545948257&sr=8-9&keywords=babyganics+sunscreen

or just standard Coppertone Waterbabies (we like the whipped best).

LINK: https://www.amazon.com/Coppertone-WaterBabies-Whipped-Sunscreen-Multipack/dp/B078BDD1BD/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1545948230&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=waterbabies%2Bsunscreen%2Bwhipped&th=1

Neither affected her skin, which was AMAZING. After first thick coat, we reapply every 45-60 minutes (or at any HINT of redness), and do a quick, lukewarm bath every night it was applied to remove the residue.

@Mrs. Turtle: my LO has sensitive eczema prone skin and hasn’t had a problem with think baby. I don’t think I’ve used blue lizard on her (she’s my less fair child and the white spots would be more annoying)

This is just my experience, but Aveeno Baby sunscreen made my eczema baby break out like crazy. So I'd probably avoid that.

We use Babyganics and it's worked well. I got one that came in a 2-pack with the cream and then the little stick which we use on her face. They sell it at Target.

@Foodnerd81: I'll check our local Rite Aid today before I order anything, but our local stores don't typically have anything other than the real basics. Thanks for the recommendation! I think it'll be worth spending a little more to have her well protected and safe on this vacation!

Cvs surprisingly. And my cvs card gets 40% off coupons randomly so that would be a good one to use t on.

I feel like Think Baby and Blue Lizard are the ones I see recommended the most. I find blue lizard a little tough to rub in, but on a fair red head you probably won’t even see the white streaks. Of course both are a little pricier. I prefer Think Baby and usually just try to by when I see a random price drop.

I need sunscreen recommendations. Ideally something I can get via Amazon prime, because I forgot to plan ahead and we have less than a week before we leave for Hawaii. Baby N is only 7m old so we haven't used any on her yet. She has mild eczema, red hair and VERY fair skin. We have sun protection gear too, but I want to have something to put on her in addition to that. What's safe and infant-friendly? Thanks!
