It was expensive ($80) but it guards against dirt, falls, and allows the phone to be submerged in water up to 6 feet. I just got a 5C and I'm at a loss!</p> <p>I've had two Otterbox Defenders and liked their protection, but hated the bulk. I have used their Commuter series on my iPhone 4S and 5 and really liked it. I just ordered it for my iPhone 5C and was sad to find that the case doesn't cover the charger port on the 5C model, and seems pretty ill-fitting in general. Across the bottom front there isn't any hard case, just a (loose, almost floppy) peice of the soft case. Not good protection IMHO (because it can pull down easily and then the phone could be damaged in a drop that hits there.)</p> <p>I'm not finding anything besides the Defender that covers the port. I'm VERY hesitant to leave it uncovered because that's why we had to replace my DH's iPhone. Even with insurance that isn't cheap. Don't want to get removable port plugs because between 2 dogs and LO I don't need little things that I can lose and they can swallow.</p> <p>ETA: I am a phone dropper. I broke enough phones (oh the sweet days when the apple store would replace your screen for free!) that I need something with good protection.</p> <p>HELP! </p>
