I have a slouchy-ish StorkSak, and I have mixed feelings on it. It's definitely cute and purse-looking (it's leather + this nubby gray tweed-ish material), but I wish it were more structured. The slouchiness makes it harder to find stuff when I'm rummaging through it, and harder to organize stuff in there.
I guess it's on the floor a lot, but so far (LO is 8 months old), it doesn't really get dirty. I have a wet bag for soiled clothes and stuff like that, so I've never actually needed to clean the bag itself.

Thanks for these tips, ladies! I am definitely sold on the nylon bag. I heart StorkSak, Marc Jacobs, and also Kate Spade.

I can't find one I like anywhere that I'm registered (Sears and Babies R Us), so I haven't registered for one and will probably end up using my oversized purse. I do definitely love that bag though!

Whatever bag you get, make sure you can easily open it and access everything inside! I got a diaper bag that was really hard to open, and I could never get anything in or out. Also, get one that can get dirty, and you can wipe clean easily. They get dirty fast and easily!

I went with a Marc Jacobs - http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/marc-by-marc-jacobs-pretty-nylon-elizababy-diaper-bag/3166879 - I absolutely LOVE it. A few friends I know got a Kate Spade and they love those too. I have a really big spitter-upper and my diaper bag has never gotten "dirty" - I empty it daily, I throw diapers out immediately. This one is nylon so it's easily cleanable if needed!

I asked for this one. After having one with my bonus son I realized that I needed something I could wipe down.

My vote is for the StorkSak Oliva! I registered for it and was shocked that someone actually bought it for me!! My friend has it and absolutely loves it. She can't recommend it enough!

I have a Mommy Hook that I got from Babies R Us to attach my bag to the stroller. But it's so darn big that I always end up just carrying it anyway otherwise it'll drag the stroller down.

If you want a fancy bag and don't want to have to worry about soiled clothes/burp cloths, you could always get a wet bag to put inside your bag for all of that stuff. I have a very casual bag, it's canvas from 31, not fancy at all. But surprisingly it doesn't get very dirty. I have a wetbag that I stick all my dirty cloth diapers and soiled clothes in, and other than that it's just the water in the bottles that you'd have to worry about leaking.

What I love about my diaper bag is that it has lots of outside pockets. Makes it very easy to find things quickly.

Get something you don't care about knocking around on the stroller or the floor. I really like the bags that have stroller clips to attach to the handlebars of the stroller.

I love the Coach diaper bags and have actually heard great things about them. I am thinking about getting one since I live by the outlet but well see how the hubs feels about it haha.

I personally would never go with something like coach or anything that expensive really because its likely to get really dirty from spit up rags and soiled clothes... so I say the easier to clean the better.

I have a Storksak that's very much like the Olivia.... and I love it! It gets lots of compliments and I've used it for both babies, so for almost 4 years now. Even when I went back to work and didn't need it to be a diaper bag (baby was at home with nanny), I still used it.

My mom is very generously gifting me a diaper bag of my choosing for Christmas (within reason, of course). I would really like a bag that looks like a purse rather than a diaper bag - also would like something in a neutral color (ie, no patterns).

I was looking at some of the Coach diaper bags - they are gorgeous! But, would leather be practical I wonder? Also, are they brief-casey?

I was also looking at the StorkSak - Olivia. Not sure if a slouchy type bag would be annoying though? http://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/Storksak-Olivia-Baby-Bag-Gray-Baby-Bags-Strollers/prod134210061/

Thanks : )
