They have them in front of 2 backdrops. Once is a sort of autumn leaves and the other one is a solid color that you can pick. And I love that they'll take pictures of the boys together. I sent DS1 in a maroon collared shirt and jeans and DS2 in a blue and white striped collared shirt and khakis. </p> <p>Last year, I totally forgot and send DS1 in sweatpants that I hated and some random shirt. I actually had no idea they were doing photos in the fall until her last day of school last week when I picked her up! They did them in the spring already (on a day she doesn't go so that along with the fact I wasn't into them meant we didn't participate) so maybe it's twice a year? Then it's sort of a fun "this is what she typically wears/wants to wear" outfit along with good ole school photos. We skipped them in the spring because I tend to think they're cheesy, but I'm also biased as a photographer and realized these pictures are also always funny to look back on so we're going to participate this time. Only I have no clue what the background will be or if her legs will show, but I'm thinking because these kids are all 2-4.5 it's just gonna be a heads and shoulders kinda pic. </p> <p>So what have been your wins with school photos and not really knowing what the backdrop is going to be? Neutrals? Bright colors? I'm thinking no patterns, right? You would think I'd have a clue, but we've never done "studio" portraits! </p>
