DS was given a Soothies in the hospital. We also used the Gumdrops ones which are an identical nipple to the Soothies, but the shape of the rest of the paci is contoured instead of round all the way around. They are both made by The First Years.

My LO will only take MAM and only the 6 months+ ones, even though he's only two months. The pediatrician said it was OK though. The newborn ones get spit right out!

Try as I might, DD won't take any of the ones that I've tried. As for which brand is best for a breastfed baby, my LC says there isn't one, as all breasts/nipples are shaped differently!

Our LO would occasionally use a soothie, but not much. We tried mam, and 2 or 3 other kinds, but he spit them all out. Really, even though we introduced early, he never took to pacifiers. Once he found his thumb, though, bedtime became easier.

She's always refused the pacifier until at 8 months she found it and stuck it in her mouth herself. Sleep has gone much easier bc she puts it in her mouth, lies down , and falls asleep.

We use the Tommie Tippie brand. The one I had was for 0-3 months so we tried switching to MAM but it didnt have the handles on the pacifier and she likes to hold it first before putting it in.

We tried 3 diff kinds. Soothies are the only ones she will take, and usually only in the car, front pack, or if we hold it in.
Honestly, I wish I'd introduced one sooner, because I think it would help with some of our sleeping issues...oh well!

@sslm: mine loves MAM brand. We got them at target. However now that he likes sucking on his hands he spits out the pacifier 75% of the time. Will still use it to soothe when upset or at bedtime.
