<description>&#60;p&#62;I saw both Hugo and The Artist, and think Hugo should have won best picture. It was much, much more a homage to early cinema than The Artist was (though many of the references were obscure, and so, missed). To be honest, I found The Artist to be kind of campy. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I’m still surprised movies like “The Help” and “Midnight in Paris” are nominated for best picture. They are cute films, but fluffy.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I wanted to like The Tree of Life, but it was soooo slow. We turned it off after about half an hour – someday we’ll go back and finish it.
