@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: my friend has those zip sheets and loves them so much. Her son was a big time spitter upper and it saved her so much trouble in the MOTN. She also got flat mattress pads instead of regular fitted ones.

My favorite sheets were from IKEA (jersey material) and a local boutique (terry, like soft toweling).

I actually bought a crib bedding set from Pottery Barn, I ended up using all five pieces at different points.

For sheets, we have tried Aden & Anais, Target, PBK, RH Baby, and Land of Nod. I love the A&A for the softness, but I found ti to be smaller fitting and/or shrinks, which is a problem because we have a waterproof cover + a wool mattress pad. I would say RH Baby, Land of Nod, and PBK are all about the same quality, but the RH Baby and Land of Nod are my faves because they have a deeper fit and not as much struggle to put on.

@MelisMc: I love Dwell Studio, but I only bought one from them (not very cheap) and I have a few more neutral ones from Target. They're only $9.99.

Carousel Designs! It's pricey but great quality. If you're only getting sheets and a crib skirt, it's not too bad!

I love Serena and Lily for linens. They aren't terribly expensive, but I would just get a pretty crib skirt and pair it with some basic cotton/flannel sheets from Target. We have Dwell Studio sheets for the crib that cost a fortune and aren't nearly as soft as the less expensive "back up" sheets I got at Target or on Amazon.

ETA link: http://www.serenaandlily.com/Baby/Baby-Nursery-Rooms (Also why do these places still insistent on styling every single room with crib bumpers?)

I think as others have said, the key to keeping it simple and just doing the sheets since you honestly don't need anything else, really. I ended up buying a sheet plus an expensive quilt, but I never used it, sadly. For the longest time, LO wasn't old enough for a blanket, then she was but she hated blankets and now I have ordered new bedding for her toddler bed from Land of Nod.

I agree with PP, skip the sets, and stick with sheets and bedskirt only, you will never use the other stuff in the bag (mine was such a waste!) I'm doing just sheets this time and am okay with spending a little bit more for nicer sheets because of it!

I like a simple bright white crib with no skirt, so I'm going to take a page out of Lucie's List and go with:

https://m.buybuybaby.com/m/product/clouds-and-stars-quickzip-reg-zipper-base-and-zipper-sheet-set/117132

The sheets are attached via zipper for easy MOTN changes.

Land of Nod! They are pricy, but they have held up far longer than our cheap sheets from BRU. In a year of heavy use/washing, they haven't faded.

We have Target sheets for DS's room- I am glad I didn't spend too much on them because they get kinda gross- and are cheap and easily replaceable!

I also only bought sheets, at least in the beginning. We have some from Target and Aden and Anais.

Later I added sleep sacks and an AA dream blanket.

Since we only got sheets, I didn't feel that bad about getting pottery barn kids cribs sheets. They were $19 each, which is like ten dollars more than target but since it's all we bought, I was ok with it. They have held up really well and I just love the print (Taylor, so gray and white elephants)

I finally bought a crib and am starting to think about the nursery. Where can I find cute crib bedding that doesn't cost a fortune? I'm finding that I have expensive taste in this area!
