I am loving the jeans I just got from Madewell. They are high waisted, and tight, but comfortable. I have larger legs/hips and a smaller (but now super soft) waist. So containment is key.

Also, they come in tall which I like.

I've been liking the fit of Madewell jeans. They have a range of waist heights (high-waisted, medium-high waisted, normal), and they fit quite well and are flattering. Great for the postpartum time before everything goes back into place (at least hopefully... I'm 8 months out now!).

Third (fourth?) the recommendation for Wit and Wisdom at Nordstrom. I have a pair in black and wear them way too often.
Also Rockstar mid rise jean at Old Navy. Sucks in my tummy pooch nicely!

@littlebug: yes, I tried the bootcut in store and liked them a lot, but I wanted a skinnier pair right now. I ordered $600 worth to try on at home (my store only had like three styles with only a couple sizes). The waist really looks like a real jeans waist, not jeggings. The blogger on Putting Me Together has a few pairs so you can see them on her.

ETA: the bootcut ran particularly big. I’m usually like an 8 or 10 and in the skinny styles of wit and wisdom the 8 is good but in the bootcut I would have gone down to a 6.

BEst advice I ever got was, buy pants that fit you at the widest part and have the looser parts taken in. A seamstress can easily take in the seat of your jeans and it shouldn’t be terribly expensive.

@Foodnerd81: Have you tried just the boyfriend jeans or any of the other styles? I don't personally care for boyfriend jeans but I've been looking for some new bootcut jeans and there are some ab-solution bootcuts.

I second the suggestion of @skinnycow. I bought those after having my second while I was still in between sizes and they were comfortable and kept everything in. I ended up returning to my former size around month 6 so I only needed them for a few months and was glad I didn't spend more.

Wit and wisdom absolution jeans at Nordstrom are great. They look like real, kind of mid- to high- rise, jeans with a fly and everything, but the waistband has elastic in it. Really comfortable and forgiving. And they don’t stretch out or sag. Plus free ship and returns. I sized down one size.

@Onyx81: I like Express jean leggings, and they have a lot of good mid-rise and high-rise styles that cover the pooch. They're the only cheap-ish pair of jeans I've found that don't stretch out on me. I also like Paige for mid- to high-rise styles if you're willing to spend a little more.

I really like my denim leggins from New York and Company. Higher waist, good amount of stretch, totally retain their shape. They have a button and zip closure and I would call them skinny jeans, but they're labeled as leggings.

Thanks guys! Keep the suggestions coming! I have a really small ass, so I need something that will fit my saggy tummy but won't sag in the butt either, so I need jeans that hold their shape well.

High waisted is the way to go! If you don't mind a more expensive price point, I love JBrand maria high-rise and also DL1961 Florence instasculpt. You can usually find both on sale at Bloomingdales, Off 5th, etc. (I'm 3mo PP and wearing the JBrands right now!)

I also have some J.Crew (lookout is the style) jeans that are high rise and great for postpartum, but they seem to stretch out in the legs/butt and sag after only one wear (and I'm not washing jeans every time I wear them!)

I don't know what style jeans you like but I love these from Old Navy. They're stretchy and have an elastic waistband that's fairly high (above my belly button). They also seem to suck everything in. They're called jeggings on the website but the only thing jegging-like is the elastic waistband. Otherwise, they're completely normal jeans.

The price is great and they're actually very high quality.

I am 4 months postpartum with my second (and most likely last) child. My stomach returned to somewhat normal after my first, but the second did a number on me. My legs returned to the size they were before my second pregnancy, but my stomach has not; therefore, all my jeans fit really funky, so I need to get some new postpartum jeans/pants to hide my tummy. I don't care too much about price; I have a few pairs that are a bit pricer and some that are cheaper. I don't care about the cost; I just want to look normal! What are your go tos for jeans?
