We have the same one as @mamabear57. I've actually taken it to his school though because he uses it when at school. Not sure why he doesn't use the regular toilet there, but that's what the school wanted when we started potty training. What I like about the Bjorn potties is that you can easily remove the part that catches the waste for cleaning instead of dealing with the entire potty chair.

For later when your DS is actually using the toilet, we have really liked the Bjorn toilet seat adapter.

Thanks for posting this! I haven't thought too much about potty training but I think I may get one of these just in case he is interested!

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out!

@Honeybee: @mamabear57: DS is 14 months, and I'm glad I'm not completely nuts for thinking this is something we could start to introduce now!

This is the potty that DS has. He's only 14 months but have shown some interest using the potty in the mornings with DH. So, we bought him one and he loves it.

We also have a Baby Bjorn chair that DS has been able to use independently since about 12 months. I love this chair!

Also, I saw that Ikea sells a potty chair that is very similar to the Baby Bjorn (with a high back, rounded horn in front, and two separate pieces). It's only $10, which I think is a steal!

Those kind of potty seats above are difficult for my son to get on and off, so I would have preferred something like a real chair.

We use the regular toilet though, now, with the kid seat integrated into the regular toilet seat, with a step up booster around the base of the toilet.

We have two of these (in white)- http://www.amazon.com/BabyBj%C3%B6rn-051062US-BABYBJORN-Smart-Potty/dp/B002Q0YA4O/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1381164028&sr=8-6&keywords=potty+chair

Simple, functional, and decently priced. I also like the small footprint and the fact that it isn't too cutesy or obnoxious.

I didn't know whether to put this under Potty or Gear, so please feel free to move it if it would be appropriate elsewhere.

We've looking to get E a potty chair...the separate kind, not the one you put over your own toilet. E gets a lot of diaper-free time (thank you recurrent yeast infections) and as a result I'm constantly cleaning up after him. Over the past few days he's starting cleaning up his own pee (or at least finding a towel and covering it or a wipe and trying to wipe it up). It's kind of adorable, and got me thinking that maybe it wouldn't be a bad time to start introducing him to a potty chair. I'm not trying to potty train him now, of course, just introduce him to it (and if he'll start peeing in it, huge bonus!)

ANYWAY, if you've bought a chair, which do you recommend, particularly if you have a DS?
