Woombie was the only one that could contain LMW! It looks funny but is SO much easier than any wrapping swaddle. Stuff and zip.

The only one that I had was a velcro one, I would put one arm down, fold the flap over, put the other arm on top of that flapand then fold the other flap over. Then I'd make sure the velcro strip was kind of on his back, he never broke out and we used that swaddle for every nap and overnight from about 2 weeks to 5.5 months.

The Love to Dream swaddle, the Woombie, and velcro SwaddleMes worked awesome for us! We used SwaddleMes the most.

Miracle blanket too. LO broke out of everything else. She eventually broke out of the miracle blanket too (legs first then arms) but it was the only thing that worked more than a few nights.

We used one of the zip up pouch ones inside a halo swaddle or an A&A. Our little Houdini needed layers ;)

@spaniellove: Haha, that last sentence made me laugh. Yeah some things you figure out so quickly and for other things even being 14m in I'd really appreciate a manual ;)

Let us know how the double swaddle goes.

These were the only ones that worked great with R. She broke out of the A&A blankets, even double swaddled.

@ScarletBegonia: @Pumuckl: I'd never heard of the double swaddle before this but I'm going to give it a try! I think the SwaddlePod is just like the Woombie so it sounds like I can use that over the A+A blankets.

I swear when I hear the series of grunts that aren't poop and then crying I know I'm going to see fists flailing in the air.

Here's a great blog post from Mrs. Pen:

That might work for your houdini too.

The swaddle has to be tiiiiiiiiight. I had the best luck with A+A, but only after I got over my fear of it being too tight! (My little lady was small, too. . . too small for the Miracle Bkanket to work well!)

I like the Halo for night time. It keeps my little one really restrained! He's a lot more active during naps though - for those I swaddle with an A&A muslin and then swaddle again over that with a jersey swaddle (very stretchy). The double swaddle keeps him contained.

Miracle Blanket, but it's pricey. I had good luck with the Halo ones though. The trick is to pin his arms at his sides. Make sure they are straight. Any bend in them and he will wiggle his way out. And you do the swaddle fairly tight. I haven't heard of any concerns about arms (I guess besides making sure you haven't got then pinned behind his back).

We used the Velcro swaddlemes which worked 90% of the time, and when that didn't work, we took out the big guns... The miracle blanket. Kind of a PITA but it worked like a charm and reminded me of a legit baby straight jacket.

I swear my baby spends all his energy while sleeping trying to work his arms out of a swaddle! But he's so unhappy without a good swaddle too.

At this point I'm confused about how their arms are really supposed to be. Is it like their legs where if you don't have them positioned properly you can do damage? (If you read the description for the Ergobaby swaddler they make it sound that way.)

In the last few days I've tried A+A blankets, flannel blankets, Swaddlepods, and Halo sleepsacks. I have a Swaddle Strap but it's way too big for my little guy, who's 6 lbs even at this point. Does anything work?
