Wanted to update now that I gave birth!

I wore the hospital gown before delivery since I was pretty much confined to a bed. If I wasn't, I might have worn the robe I brought to walk around outside, since the gowns are so breezy! After delivery, I did change into a long shirt w/ buttons I brought. I found that in the hospital gown I was pretty much naked to the world & I wasn't very comfortable in it anymore.

Hospital gave grippy socks so I never wore my fussy socks. I did wear my slippers after delivery.

I also love the giant panties from the hospital, still have a bunch to wear right now for pp!

I bought and packed nightgowns that I had read were good to wear before and after and honestly, I wore the hospital gown that they gave me. It was a good thing too because there was so much FLUID. I changed it a couple of times. I actually ended up unsnapping the sleeves and being pretty open, especially postpartum. I'm a free bird.

ETA I mean, my boobs were covered but my upper chest was open. Easier for skin to skin contact too!

I had to stay 48 hours and after the first day of recovery, I changed into yoga pants and this nursing cami. http://www.target.com/p/nursing-v-neck-sleep-cami-gilligan-o-malley/-/A-14653721#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=nursing+sleep+cami
I felt much more like myself once I was out of the hospital gown.

I wore the hospital gown during labor and just the mesh underwear after recovery. LO destroyed my nipples and I could not/would not cover them. I am topless in all my hospital pics. The guy that took the trash out motioned that I might want to cover up. Meh.

I wore the same yoga pants and a tank top to go to and home from the hospital. In the hospital I wore nothing but the hospital gown and later the mesh panties. I brought other clothes but during labor what I was wearing was the last thing on my mind and afterward I wasn't allowed to take a shower until over 24 hours after DD was born (I needed to be cleared that I was no longer a fall risk) so I felt really really gross and did not want to mess up my clothes. But that was just my experience!

I wore the hospital gown the whole time. I was stuck with a catheter for over 24 hours after I gave birth because I was so swollen they didn't think I could pee on my own. I will probably wear the gown again next time since they needed easy access to check my stitches even after the catheter was out.

My cousin made me a custom hospital gown...I wore that up until they wanted to break my water (i didn't want to get birth gunk all over it) & I changed into one of their gowns. Then I switched back into my custom gown after LO was born &she had a matching layette. Then I just wore pj pants, fuzzy socks, a nursing tank & bathrobe the next 2 days (hopefully you won't be there that long!). I wore a maxi skirt & a v neck t home. I wanted to feel pretty & comfy.

I wore a stretchy sports bra and a hospital gown before and during labor because I did not want to get any of my stuff nasty. After, I wore a nursing bra and a custom hospital gown that I was gifted. If I had not been gifted the custom one, I probably would have worn yoga pants and a tank top.

Odd that most people complain about the hospital being cold. I had a January baby and the Postpartum unit was so darn hot it was miserable and I'm someone who's always cold.

I wore the hospital gown for a while (like, days) because I was bleeding all the time and sweating all the time and just plain gross. It was nice to just toss it in the hospital laundry and get a new one. Eventually I switched over to scrub pants and one of my DH's t shirts with a nursing bra underneath. I had to stay for a few days and really didn't feel like wearing anything even remotely normal. I only had family for visitors and I wore my own robe over the t-shirt and scrubs.

The hospital had me put on one of their gowns first thing. I wore those non-slip socks the hospital gives out too. After my post-delivery shower I put on maternity yoga pants, a nursing bra, nursing tank, and a loose fitting maternity t-shirt over it, plus sneakers/slippers.

I wore a hospital gown or nothing from after I got checked until after the birth- but I only labored in the hospital for four hours. Everything just got gross so I definitely would not have wanted to be wearing anything of my own. Neither Dh nor I can quite remember but I'm pretty sure I was naked when she was actually born- which is very very not like me. But I was in the tub a lot.

After I wore the hospital gowns until I went home. I brought a robe but was always hot and never wanted the extra layer plus I liked not worrying if I was bleeding on everything.

I wore loose yoga pants and a target nursing tank home (summer baby).

Oh and I purposely brought cheapie flip flops in case I wanted to walk around and was leaking water or whatever.

I wore some loose yoga pants on the drive to the hospital and immediately changed into their gown - things got messy during checks so I'm glad I wasn't wearing some fancy robe of my own. By the time I was pushing it was gown pushed way up and a nursing bra.

I also wore their gowns the next day, but eventually changed into some other stretchy yoga-like pants, a nursing tank and a long shark-bite type cardigan to stay warm in the the chilly hospital.

For labor and birth, I wore a hospital gown with a sports-nursing bra. The gown ended up all bunched around my neck at the end, so I did end up in just my nursing bra.

Afterwards I changed into a long-john style pajama (from VS, lol). The top buttoned down to my belly button, so nursing was easy. I wanted to feel cute and was glad to have new PJs to change into. I also brought a new robe to wear.
