Maybe try taking a walk at lunch (somewhere with A/C, if possible)? I usually just had a small amount of pop with caffeine though (my doc allows approx. one can per day) but only on work days. I just took a nap on my days off.

Only things that helped me were caffeine for my commute (can of coke felt safer than driving off the road!!) and sleeping roughly from 6/7p-7am.

I saved my one cup of coffee a day for the afternoon when I really needed it. Otherwise lots of sleep, and it will pass eventually. Congrats!!

Protein is supposed to help. I also would drink decaf, counting on that little bit of caffeine that's still left, also hoping to trick myself with the coffee associations. It'll pass soon. Enjoy it now that you don't have any kids and you can take naps in your free time. This pregnancy that is an impossibility for me.

@MrsBlue: I totally underestimated just how exhausted I would be! I was terrified that I was going to fall asleep at work (I did, after all, fall asleep mid-sentence while talking to DH . . . and I was sitting up at the time!) or completely sleep through my alarm (I set 2, just in case). I felt like a kitten zombie . . . all I wanted to do was nap (and pretend to be a kitten!), and when I was awake I totally felt like a zombie (brain function was likely purely instinctual with not a lot of higher functioning!).

Unfortantely I agre with @MsLipGloss, it was a struggle to get through the day nothing worked for me! I was unable to nap during the day either, so it was home to the couch as soon as I could!

Lots of ice water to drink, the colder the better to help wake me up.

I didn't find anything to alleviate the fatigue . . . when I felt particularly sleepy, I would get up and go get some water or make a quick trip to the ladies to run cold water over my wrists (helps you feel cooler and may wake you up a little).

(((Hugs))) doll, those early weeks were tough!

Y'all, I am exhaustamundo! By 2 p.m., I am so tired I would give alll four limbs for some caffiene and a nap. I can't take car naps at lunch because (1) today was a 106 degrees and I would die, and (2) we have a small parking lot and everyone would be suspicious.

So, what worked for you in combating pregnancy fatigue? Extra B vitamins, certain foods, a certain amount of sleep, working out? Is there anything that will put a dent in the exhaustion?
