But, we went to Ocean Isle Beach, NC in 2007 with my family and it is the perfect family getaway spot. Houses and condos for rent, very family friendly, can walk everywhere on the island, but is only a 20 or so minute drive from Myrtle Beach. Someday, I will be vacationing there again. I don't think the condo we stayed in allowed kids, but there were other options. It's a nice little town and the ocean was right there at our doorstep. The outerbanks are gorgeous, and there are some amazing cabin and house boat rentals in the smokey mountain region that we've done. </p>
