I'm transferring them all into XL Ziplock bags with the sizes written on them and stuff them inside a cardboard box.

I reused diaper boxes and store them in Ds's closet. I'll probably buy a couple of totes for them before we move again but the boxes have been fine so far and survived the move from KS to HI.

We use the Rubbermaid plastic totes. I spent a little more since I know they have to survive an international move in a year. I just taped a size label on the side.

I got a bunch of stackable plastic totes from Costco. They are the perfect size to fit one size of clothes. I keep one in LOs room and as he outgrows clothes I toss them in the tote and when he stops fitting in to everything in that size, then I label the tote and stack it in the closet.

I'm thinking I will store in cardboard boxes until I have enough for a big tote...thanks!

I used cardboard boxes at first - but it gave the clothes a funky smell and the boxes didn't hold up to stacking as well as I had hoped after a few years (I guess my storage area was a bit damp?)
I use totes now, labeled by size/gender on the top and sides of the bin. So far, I like it a lot better.

Plastic totes with the sizes marked on the outside. Just on our first LO though, so not sure how they'll hold up.

Just wondering how you've successfully stored clothing to use for future LOs. I've seen " only use cardboard boxes" and "only use plastic bins..." So what works best?
