What kind of carrier? Last winter I had c in the Beco gemini in a front carry, so I would wear a sweatshirt or sweater, and a fleece scarf over my chest (for warmth and spit up) then the carrier with baby, then but my puffy coat over the whole thing. It didn't zip all the way up but went about halfway, enough to cover her legs. I usually had her in a fleece bunting thing too.

No idea how you would do a sling since those are usually on the hip, right?

@Astro Bee: @delight: I just got that one too.. it works with my fall coat but my warm winter coat uses special zippers so i'm waiting on getting a duplicate set from the manufacturer so I can wear it!

@MissKoo021: I've been looking around at various winter pregnancy jackets and came across this - an insert for your existing jacket. It installs one way during pregnancy and the other way for baby-wearing later on. There are different weights of insert and four different zipper styles can be used with it. Best of all, you only need to purchase one and can share it bw you and your SO, because the insert is adjustable in length, and the zippers velcro on and off.

It's a Canadian company, out of Montreal, but they seem to ship everywhere, and can be found in stores, as well.

following bc it is december and I've not yet figured this out. So far my strategy has been to just wrap LO in my coat and run into the store, then take off my coat and get her situated in my sling. But its not a great strategy.
