DH is 100% it's his!<br /> So basically, DH has a trailer that we had parked in the overflow parking of our community. At the end of December we received a letter from our HOA stating we needed to move it otherwise it would get towed.<br /> DH went to check on it and it was gone! We thought it had been towed, (DH contacted the HOA and pitched a fit) but turns out it was stolen. DH reported it stolen to the police and we considered it a loss. How do you track down a 5x8 trailer, right?<br /> So today, DH gets a call from the president of the HOA who tells us he saw that one of our neighbors just got a trailer that looks suspiciously like ours. DH's had really unique tires, bungee cords/straps and lines etched into the wood.<br /> DH goes out to investigate, and our neighbor across the way has the trailer (filled with crap) in his driveway! We were shocked because he's our "friend." DH went and checked it out and is positive it's his. Has all the markings and DH's worn straps. However, the trailer (which isn't brand new) has a new VIN sticker on it.<br /> I mean. There's no way to prove that it's our trailer so nothing we can do.<br /> Our neighbor took the trailer down to FL and had it registered there at the end of Dec. My mom is the type to leave 100 bills laying around the house, and nothing has ever been stolen, so I know I don't have to worry. It's so hard to let strangers into your house when you don't know if you can trust them!</p> <p>Our handy man is my SIL's dad, so we can trust him too thank goodness.
