@mfa_lady: You know my struggles with pumping! I do miss BF because we weaned kind of suddenly when A had enough, but it's nice having my body back.

LO is 17 mos and I honestly can't remember the last time I pumped... probably around 11,12 mos. He still nurses probably 4-7 times a day, but I'm pregnant and not producing like I was even a month ago, so I would probably only pump once at night and call it good.

Nope, I dropped my pump off at Goodwill the day I stopped pumping at work (closed circuit pump).

@mfa_lady: Hey! Miss our FB group!

I’m in a similar boat with DS (17m). We are just nursing morning/night and I’m surprised he’s getting anything, but he loves, loves, loves it! I stopped pumping around 12 months and he gets WCM at daycare — no issues. I’m going away for two nights in April and was thinking it was going to be a good time to wean. But as it get closer to April — and I talk with DS about someday not having mamma’s milk — I can tell that he’s not too into that idea. So if he’s not ready before I leave, I probably need to pump 1x day while gone. The only trouble is that my Spectra pump no longer works — any very cheap suggestions? I assume a hand pump but I don’t know what is good and cheap. I’ll probably never use it again!

With lo1 I stopped pumping around 17m but still nursed til 22m.

Lo2 is 13m and until last week I was pumping 2x/day during the work day, now I dropped to 1x. On weekends I still nurse about 4-6x/day

I did, but more for comfort, not supply. I went away for 2 days at 20 months and pumped AM and PM. I had a big supply though and I would have been engorged and uncomfortable. If I wasn't engorged, I would probably just pump like once a day and call it good. Now when my son was closer to one (like 12-16 months) he was still nursing a lot and couldn't have dairy, etc. so I would have pumped more (and my supply was higher at that point).

Once we were down to twice a day, I could skip the nighttime pump if I was away. But I tested it out first before fully skipping. More for my comfort than having more milk! The last thing I would want is to wake up engorged. And I had a lot of leaking, especially with my first.

DD is almost 14 months and nursing morning, midday, and before bed. If I'm going to miss the morning or bedtime session, I pump, but if it's just the midday session I'll miss, I don't pump and I wait till bedtime. I'm more worried about plugged ducts than my supply.

I would pump if I had to skip a session conpletely, but not if I could just delay it (like feed hours later than normal).

I'd be worried about getting a clog or engorged, not about losing supply.

I did after 1 but I definitely had to and was nursing more frequently still (LO couldn’t have cows milk so that was part of it).

However by the time I was down to twice a day I could go a night without pumping. I can’t remember when that was but I think that was closer to 2.

I would pump for a multi-day trip, but didn't if it was just one night. I nursed #2 to sleep until 21 months, but after she turned one if I wasn't there she didn't get any milk at bedtime. I don't think she was really getting much by then anyway.

Very rarely and only if I was uncomfortable! It was mostly a slow slide of declining supply and declining demand, and eventually I got to the point where I could skip the morning or evening feeding and not be super miserable.

No waaaaay. I stopped pumping at 1 with DD2 and with just okay supply, I am surprised I still have milk! She's 15 mo and I nurse morning/night (overnight) and on weekends if we're home she wants the boob all the time!

My youngest is 16.5 months and still nursing 2x/day (wakeup and bedtime). I stopped pumping at work 3 months ago and she drinks bottles/sippies during the day on the weekends.

So my question is, if you nursed past one year, did you pump when you were away from baby? I have a work trip in May and will be away from her for a few days so I'll definitely plan to pump then if we're still going....but last night I took some clients to dinner and missed one session and was too chicken not to pump when I got home.

WWYD/what did you do?
