LOL, eff it. My period just showed up, like, 5 minutes ago. As disappointed as I am, I couldn't help but really laugh out loud. All that fuss...

Onto the next cycle! Thank you, everyone, again, for your input.

Hm if you say the line was faint but clearly visible, that would not be considered a positive OPK. I always seem to show a second test line no matter when my cycle is, usually faint but always there. Wait a few more days then take another HPT!

@Purple: When I wanted to test I was at home with no pregnancy tests. I used an OPK and it came up very positive (as LH and HCG are very similar). That motivated me to go out and buy a digi which came back positive!

Good Luck!

I don't know about whether or not an OPK will be positive if you are pregnant, but depending on the brand of OPK you are using you might not have gotten a positive. Before I started using the digital (which my dr. recommended since it's less confusing) the tests with the lines were only positive if the second line was as dark as the control line. Every time I took one I'd get a faint second line, but the day I O'd I showed up positive on a digital.

I hope that helps and I hope you are KU and get a BFP soon!!!

Hmmm. This is SO confusing.

* Today is cycle day 31 for me and I believe I ovulated two weeks ago (as per my usage of OPKs).
* My period was expected to show up today (or tomorrow at the latest) and when my period had not arrived this morning, I took a preggo test, which came out stark white.

Aaaah. I'll just wait it out another day or so and see. :(

Thanks for the input!

Yeah, the first time I was pregnant (ended in m/c) I thought I was just ovulating late when I got a positive OPK on a digital (like, cycle day 40) but then it occurred to me to take a pregnancy test and it was positive.

Some cheapie ovulation tests always have a faint second line so if you are wondering if you are ovulating take a digital, or another pregnancy test will confirm if you are pregnant.

Not sure what brand OPKs you're using, but my cheapies (wondfos from Amazon) always show a faint second line, they are only truly positive when the second line is darker (or as dark as) than the control line...I don't know if this is the case across all brands, though.

@Purple: If you are pregnant you will get a positive opk. Did you get a positive OPK this past month though? Because if you are 14 days into a cycle you should be ovulating anyway. Many woman do not know, but the average woman does not ovulate 1 time per 12 months.

I got my bfp on day 57. More than likely I didn't ovulate the first month.

So, I'm 12-14 dpo today (not entirely sure) but have been getting BFN all week. The most recent pregnancy test I took was this morning (using just a cheapie) and it was negative but I took it because I was expecting my period today.

Anyway, I was doing some HB researching and I read that someone took an OPK and it was a blazing positive. Does a postive OPK indicate pregnancy as well? I'm confused.

I DID, just now, pee on a OPK and a faint but clearly visible line showed. Any ideas???
