The cycle I got pregnant, I thought our timing was off, O-2 and the day after O. The other cycles it seemed perfect, but wasn't. We got pregnant on cycle 4. Like @Mrsjets, we used NFP/charting to prevent and give me a better understanding of my cycle.

We DTD on my estimated O day (with EW CM) and I got a BFP on our first cycle. We DTD 6 days prior and 4 days after as we are not everyday people. We also used NFP (and PAP) to prevent and it has never failed us.

With this pregnancy I knew our timing was right on.

I got a positive OPK. We had sex about 15 minutes after I took it. Boom. Knocked up.

Honestly, the BFP cycle, I still do not understand how it happened- because we only bd'd twice and both times were well after I noticed the positive OPK, so I was sure we'd missed it. The month before, when it didn't happen, we bd'd at least once a day through the whole 2wk middle of the month time!

I always felt like our timing was "so-so". We definitely weren't an "everyday" couple. The first time I got pregnant we DTD on 0-3 and 0-1 and had a mc. The second time we got pregnant we were 0-3 and O. I'm a firm believer in it only takes one time! The 5 cycles spent TTC we only hit 1 or 2 days during the fertile window.

We actively tried for 3 cycles. First one-- DH had an unexpected business trip and was gone for the 2 weeks in the middle of my cycle, I knew there was 0 chance. Second and third cycles trying I know our timing was very, very good. BFN for the second, BFP for the third. I was charting my temps and could confirm that the timing had been spot on for both.

When we tried before, I felt like our timing was ok, but there were "problems" with the first two months. The 3rd cycle when I got BFP, it felt like we did everything right.

So here I am at cycle trying #4 (1st post-MC), feeling like our timing was perfect. Do you usually feel like your timing was great or have cycles you consider "duds"? How did you feel about it the cycle you got your BFP?
