@sarah.clarisse: I agree that 4 months is too soon to have elastic problems! FYI the country of manufacture is on the little care and use tag on the diaper.

@sarah.clarisse: I got some of mine 2nd hand, so have no idea which ones needed it, but it was right around DD turning a year, so 11m or so of use? 4m does seem too quick, the lady that did mine asked where I did mine up and suggested I did them too tight and to try one snap more loose to try to extend the elastics life a bit more, just a thought for you? I need a handful of mine done that weren't done in the Fall done here soon before #2 arrives!

@sarah.clarisse: that's nuts that the elastic is already wearing out and you're line drying! I'd call them and see what they say.

@owlmom: we have 22 diapers in rotation. They are all washed & double rinsed using hard rock detergent and then lined dry. Maybe I'll look into the warranty... I don't have my receipts of purchase so not sure how that will work.

What does your wash/dry routine look like, and how big is your stash? All my BG 4.0s are white or pastel, and the elastic held up equally in both. We only have 12 of them and lots of other diapers in our stash, though. We used them for about 18 months with our first LO, but I'm going to have to replace all of the leg elastic to make them functional for baby #2.

ETA: with very basic sewing skills, you can replace the elastic pretty easily - lots of videos on YouTube. Also, BGs have a 1 year warranty, so I would call their customer service since yours are only 4 months old.

@Beebug: how long did you use your diapers before you redid the elastic? I feel these shouldn't be stretched out already!!! We've only been using them for about. 4 months.

@danda: how would I know where they were made? They were all purchased new at the same time from buy buy baby. It's frustrating because for the price of cloth diapers I feel they should hold up consistently.

Just curious - are your pastels made in a different location from the others? A different production location could definitely be related to a different elastic vendor!

I haven't noticed a trend in colours stretching differently than others, however did just recently pay someone to re-do some elastics for me (just the legs, not the back) and will probably send her more soon!

Did anyone notice that certain colors of their 4.0s lose elasticity around the legs more than other colors? Maybe I'm crazy but I've noticed that our pastels fit way more loosely than the dark colors. The black and white Einstein print fits like a glove. Had I known that I would have bought all that color ;)

Also - is there a fix for this that I don't know about?
