I'm not going to lie, bedtime is really hard on the days she naps. Sometimes taking over an hour before we can get her to stay in bed, much less asleep. However, she sleeps better and later now. We've not had any trouble with her getting up or coming into our room in the middle of the night except to tell us she needs to go to the potty. Then she just goes right back to sleep afterwards. DS has been out of the crib since last July and it went so much easier than expected. It hasn't been an issue even once. He slept better once we switched, actually, because climbing out of the crib was a game to him. Plus it's so nice to be able to sleep with him when he's sick. When we switched G, he actually slept better. I mean now after about 3 months, are dealing with him leaving his bed and walking around(middle of the night and morning), he's still sleeping better than he did when in his crib. Once they can climb out, it's really only a matter of time before they do it a lot and that's dangerous. We switched C at 2. His night sleep is good - delays to get in bed but he rarely cries at bed time or wakes up. Sleeps roughly 830-7. Naps are hot or miss he usually naps at home 4 days a week (2 days is at school and the other day has quiet time but doesn't fall asleep). He just started climbing out of his crib. But only during a time out when really really mad. He doesn't climb out during bed or nap time even when he is all done or doesn't want to nap. He calls for me in the morning. We asked him if he wants his big boy bed and he says yes. He never sleeps in bed with us (even if sick or we are traveling). Should we still switch him? The hesitation is we have a 10 week old whose room adjoins his....worried he will get out of bed (especially nap time) and bother him. Or just that there will be more wakeups and we are already dealing with infant night wakings.
