@aegie: Oh! Very cool mattress! I never saw this reply/thread since my last reply and never heard of Tufts & Needle! It looks like a great mattress and such a reasonable price too!

FWIW, I ended up getting this mattress. Even the same name mattress from other sites didn't have the same specs, so I ordered it from LON. DD isn't sleeping in it yet so nothing to say about it yet besides I liked the specs on it.

My DD loves my Casper mattress. We're going to get her one when she is ready for a big girl bed. If you get a foam mattress, get a couple of water proof mattress covers.

@aegie: Reviving this thread bc I searched for Tuft & Needle and saw your post. How are you guys liking the mattress now that it's been a couple months? I'm considering it for my son :)

@mauxie: that's s great idea about Memorial Day sales!

@SugarplumsMom: do you mean any mattress and then a naturepedic topper? I'll have to look that up!

We used an online service, I can not remember the name, but I looked on line and then ordered it up for delivery. I picked a pillow top one, my son likes a softer bed, and it was delivered in a week.

If K is used to the Naturepedic, I'd opt for the topper. I think toppers on a firm bed is actually more comfortable than buying a whole mattress. It's easier to change and cheaper, too.

I'm not sure of specific mattresses but my DS needs one too and I am holding out for Memorial Day, hoping Macy's (or somewhere) has a big sale! I think it's best to try them out in person.

We purchased a twin mattress for my daughter and just went to Macy's when they were having a sale and tested out the mattresses, just like I would do if I was buying my own mattress :-) I believe we wnded up with a Sealy pillow top and I think it was probably around $500 (inc. tax, box spring, frame, delivery, etc).

Planning to move K to a big kid bed (full size) a couple months before baby number 2 arrives and needs the crib. Looking into the mattresses and box spring and trying to figure out which to go with. For the crib, we splurged on a Naturepedic and have been happy with it, but the price on the full size mattress has me in sticker shock.

Any suggestions, links, tips on mattresses for big kid bed? Affordable organic would be a big plus. Obviously, we hope she'll use it for a long time, so I don't totally want to cheap out on it, but overwhelmed by all the choices. Thanks!
