LO has a pillowtop from Sams, it was a little less than $200, so pretty reasonable. He's got sheets from Target and a blanket that stays tucked in like a sheet from Amazon. No pillow yet. DH built his bedframe and headboard

We got a daybed from Amazon, a twin mattress from Amazon (which I was skeptical about but has been great) and sheets and a quilt from target. I second the importance of getting things that are easy to wash--we can throw the quilt in the washing machine here which has been crucial after LO threw up or peed on the bed!

In the winter she usually slept under the sheet and quilt but now in the summer she ends up kicking everything off. We transitioned her when she was 3.

@blackbird: haha I remember when I just transitioned DD1. There were SO many stuffed animals in her bed I often wonder where she slept! Eventually I had to cut it down to just 3 friends. At one point she had like a dozen! 😂

E is 2.5 and has a twin on the floor. It was my brothers growing up and it's been serving as a guest bed in our house for 5 years so she's using it. We went to target and got a waterproof cover and let her pick out a fitted sheet. She has a pillow, a large body pillow, and three little blankets, plus a quilt. She has a Muslin blanket, two fleece ones, and a small puff quilt I made her. They're all stroller blanket sized. And then lots of stuffed animals

We tried a twin bed and it was just too narrow for my wiggle worm son, so we got a full sized instead. The mattress is from either Sleepys or 1800 Mattress, the bed frame is from Costco and the bedding is a mix. The down blanket we use in the winter is from Garnet Hill, the sheets and fleece blanket I got from Amazon and the decorative bedding (quilt, sham covers) is from Pottery Barn Kids.

I want to get a trundle built for under the bed, but I am not sure how to accomplish it because we have a nightstand next to the bed and it's in the way if it needs to be rolled out. And the bed has wood posts under the frame smack in the middle, so we'd have to see what is actually possible.

We got a twin trundle bed with a spring mattress.... I got a waterproof cover, sheets and a light sham-style quilt. For now, he is sleeping on top of the quilt with his favorite blanket. And we have a bed rail on the side so he doesn't roll off! This winter we will put him under the sheets and sham.

We switched DS around 33 months just a few months before LO2 was due. His twin is from Rafa Kids and it came with a foam mattress. His bed is super comfortable! The waterproof mattress pad and duvet are from Ikea, sheets and duvet cover from H&M home. He's 4.5 and has a pillow but never uses it.

I got DS's bed and mattress from a PBK sale. It was less than $400 for the bed frame (twin) and mattress (serta). It's constructed well and matches the crib. So when the kids move in rooms together we'll have a toddler bed converted-crib that matches his twin bed now, which I like.

Her twin frame actually belonged to a good friend of ours. It used to be his bed frame so it's all solid wood. Her mattress is a firm spring Serta from BJs. I think her sheets are from Kohls and the comforter set is from PBK. I meant to buy a quilt set but it was a comforter instead. I had a gift card and it was on sale plus a coupon so I only paid like $25 for it. She loves it and usually just sleeps on top of it.

@changingtides: So fun transitioning to a big bed! I bought her a super cute padded and tufted headboard at Winners, coil mattress (no box spring) and she used a fitted sheet, flat sheet and a quilt. Twin size. Have fun picking out your bedding!

This doesn't exact answer your question, because we have just been trialling the big bed unsuccessfully. But right now she sometimes sleeps in the queen bed in her room with sheets and a fluffy comforter in a duvet cover. It's a freaking pain in the butt to make the bed and wash the duvet when she gets it dirty, taking it off and putting it back on the comforter. So when she is really in the big bed I plan to get a thin comforter or quilt that fits in my washing machine. Just my 2 cents.

We used a full size bed and mattress we already had. Bedding came from Wayfair (quilt) and Target (sheets.) She typically sleeps on top of just the bottom sheet with everything else pulled back. So we could have skipped the quilt but I feel like it pulls everything together to make the room look a little neater. Plus, who knows what she'll want to do over the winter.

We're looking at transitioning DD to a twin bed soon (she's 27 months). Was just looking to get ideas on beds, mattresses, and bedding if anyone would like to share. Specifically, where did you get your LO's big kid bed? Mattress? Spring or foam mattress? What about bedding? Does your LO use a quilt, comforter, or just sheets? Thanks for any info!
