Just our parents, siblings, and nephew. Once we start throwing in our grandparents and aunts/uncles and cousins it quickly jumps up from 11 people to almost 30, which does not fit my idea of small. With DS, DH and I just spent quality time with him and did cake + presents with my parents. With DD, we invited our families (around 25 people). Around 50 people or so. But now I'm starting to rethink it and wonder if smaller is better (just close friends and family), so around 25 people. Mainly adults, very few kids. I guess I'm just concerned TOO many people might be overwhelming for LO. Right now she is going through a stranger anxiety phase, where she just cries when people she doesn't know holds her, so I don't want it to be stressful on her. Of course, she may outgrow it by then too. Did you have a big or small party for your LO's first birthday? </p>
