The 20" bike from the same brand is rated from 49" to 53". She has a scooter now, but I think it's time for her to get a big girl bike.</p> <p>What size wheels are you thinking about getting? I'm undecided between a 16" or 20" wheels. But I want training wheels. I remember reading up on kids' bikes a few months ago and they said the essential features are 1) weight and 2) the position of the seat. They argued that the well-known and expensive bike companies normally use the same parts they use for an adult-size bike and it's way too heavy for children. The seat placement had something to do with the center of gravity and how it shouldn't be too high up. I have to dig out that old article. The first training wheel bike we bought for DS was SUPER heavy, I don't know how much it weighed, but I had a really hard time picking it up and carrying outside/down the street to the park, which made me not want to take it out very often. I think it also made it hard for him to ride and he didn't use it much.
