We waited until around 11 months to use a bike trailer since pretty much everything I read says to wait until LO is one.

We started using our trailer at about 9 months, and it was fantastic. Much before that and you have to use a carseat in a sir box and it is way too much trouble.

I was a big cyclist before getting pregnant and I couldn't wait to bike with DS. I did a lot of research and pretty much everything says to wait until your child is 1. That said, DS's first bike ride was around 10 months. Our requirements were that he had excellent head and neck control and could sit very well by himself. He also had the strength to be able to support the weight of a bike helmet (Giro makes excellent baby/toddler helmets). His first seat was an iBert front mounted seat. I would not have ridden with him in a rear mount seat at that age. I wanted to be able to see him every second of the ride. He only rode 2 or 3 times under the age of 1 though. After that, winter came and he was probably 14 months old the next time we put him on a regular rear mount bike seat. We have a Hamax brand seat, and he loves it.

When we got our bike trailer, they said LO won't be able to use it until he turned 1. Not sure about the bike seats but am guessing is about the same age limit.

I've been meaning to ask our ped, but they say no jogging strollers until 9 months, so I'm prepared for them to say the same about biking.

I'm curious about this as well. LO is older at around 8 months, and being able to put her in a bike trailer would save us time with daycare pickup/drop off. I'm going to ask the dr at her 9 month appointment but curious as to what others have done.

I had no idea where to put this one.

Just wondering when y'all thought it would be okay to get an infant seat or trailer for Dan's bike. We love to bike around the neighborhood since we live near the water. We got new cruisers for Christmas, and I'd love to take Sadie along. She's almost 2 months now, but she'll around 4 months in June when we would start taking her with us. Is that too little? I really don't want to wait until next summer to take her, but I have no idea how young is too young!
