Yes, my son shows a preference to German, which is surprising to me because I SAH and speak English to him. He says danke and ja instead of thank you and yes, as an example. He also uses the German onomatopeic sounds for automobiles, which I find quite funny.

My nephews are bilingual but won't speak Spanish. Even if their mom/dad asks a question in Spanish, they respond in English!

I don't consider my LO bilingual yet because he's only 10 weeks but I do notice that when he cries, he calms down quicker when I speak Chinese to him.

My nieces and nephews were all raised bilingual (even tri!) and before school they all had a preference for Chinese. But once they started school English became the dominant language.

LO doesn't really talk but she's starting to point to things and seems to want to know the names. She seems much more responsive to french though, which is surprising since she hears english much more. However, with french words she'll point to what we're saying, in english I could tell her the word 100x and she doesn't seem to care. Her papa speaks more to her in French than I do so maybe she just wants to be like papa?

We did have a bit of an Earth day word. On sunday she started pointing to trees now and goes 'arrrrrrrrrrrr' and once in awhile gets the 'b' on there (french word for tree is 'arbre'). People probably think we're crazy as we're walking by and LO points and growls at every tree she sees.
