@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: yup! I was given a list of more than 5 covered pumps.
But either way, I wouldn't have bought a manual even if I knew that. No way that would work for my job.

@MrsRoo: I sure hope that's its just a mistake. Seem sh*tty to go back and charge for it now after all this time.

@littlejoy: I really hope it's just an error! Of course I get mail like that on a non-business day.

@MrsRoo: TOTAL B.S. ... I'm guessing a call, once they're open, will clear it up. My insurance company folded last year (PITA), and I'm still getting weird claims and EOB statements from them as they wrap accounts up. I ignore for the most part, but in your situation, I'm guessing it's just a clerical error.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I've had the pump for a year. My insurance terminated in January when I changed jobs. My bill says that it's due to insurance termination. I called the number on the bill, but the company is closed today. @littlejoy: yep! I got the pump a year ago when my daughter was born.
@Miss Ariel: the bill I got was from Byrim as well. My old insurance covered the pump 100%. The bill I got says I owe them $120 due to insurance termination. But my insurance terminated back in January, a full 9 months after I got the pump!

I was billed because my insurance company didn't have a record of my pregnancy. It took several calls to resolve the issue.

My insurance just changed in January. My previous insurer only covered a manual pump.

I know I had a coinsurance on my pump where I paid 50% or so. They didn't bill me till after insurance paid their portion so I didn't get billed for 6 months or so. The bill was from the breast pump company (byram I think?) not the insurance company.

I assume it's an error.

Did you follow their policy when you originally ordered the pump? I know insurance companies all have different pumps and policies.

@Mrs. Pen: @MrsRoo: wait, didn't they send you the covered pump?

My insurance carrier didn't give options and mailed me the only pump covered under the plan.

@Mrs. Pen: oh no! That is super annoying. I can't believe they would only cover a manual? I love my manual pump, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't have breastfed as long as I have with either child without my double electric.

I was billed for mine! $250!! I called my insurance and they said they only cover manual breast pumps even with a doctors prescription.
I'm so annoyed.

I changed jobs (and insurance) in January and just received a bill for my one year old insurance covered breast pump. They are closed today so I'll be calling Monday, but just wanting to see if anyone else has had this happen? Were you able to get out of paying it? My daughter turns one on Tuesday and I'm done pumping (last kid as well). Not thrilled about getting a $120 bill for a pump that I'm done using!
