I sent out some when I had DD (and will do so again with baby #2) because I have a lot of family who isn't on social media and I wanted to include them. But when I think about the announcements I've received over the last few years, they've all come from either good friends to whom I've already planned to send gifts or to local mom friends for whom I made a dinner postpartum.
