I wanted to try a diaphragm but when the midwife tried to fit me none of them would fit right. She recommended vaginal contraceptive film which I didn't totally trust to be as reliable as other methods (and as a user, it seems more prone to user error) but we used before my period returned and then in conjunction with fertility awareness method once my period returned. I was not careful about timing, but it is pretty effective while breastfeeding. I did not have supply issues or weird side effects, but I was always happy on the regular pill. We just use NFP/condoms. I knew I didn't want an iud and just wasn't keen on hbc anymore. Literally experienced the horror stories you hear about them. Had it removed and had to let my body heal for so long after removal cuz of the damage. I now have the Nexplanon. I've had it since October. I was terrible at taking it then. So after N, I didn't bother with BC. We got pregnant with E a little earlier then we planned (by a month) using pull and pray. We decided even after E not to go back on any BC. We used condoms for a while, however now we are looking to get pregnant anytime.<br /> The idea of using an IUD scares me! I had a couple of doctors give me crap, but we had no scares in those 8 years, then got pregnant on the first try when we stopped, so it does work. I'm not sure exactly when I'll wean and i think we'll prob try for a second in about a year, but we might just keep using condoms until then, it doesn't seem worth it to go on the pill for less than a year </p>
