The first nearly resulted in an emergency c, precipitous birth in less than 3 hours, almost ruptured my cervix, sunny side up, ended in episiotomy and vaccuum extraction. I was up walking around a few hours after it though. Didn't take any pain med. </p> <p>Next birth even faster, about 45 minutes. I think most times you squeeze a watermelon out of your who-ha, you will need time to recover and it won't be fun. It wasn't unexpected that I would hurt for a couple of weeks, but it wasn't horrific or anything. I had a forceps delivery with episiotomy after 40 hours in active labour and 3 days of latent labour. I was exhausted after no sleep and my contractions were getting weaker so I ended up getting something I didn't think I'd need: spinal anaesthetic! Positive and positive. I had back labor but since I had never experienced anything else before, it wasn't a big deal. My epidural was great, doctor was great and nurses were fantastic. All in all though I would love the same experience with a shorter labor and a natural labor. My labor on induction was very hard and I couldn't dilate without an epidural as a result. Then after epidural I felt nothing which was glorious but I'm pretty lucky I was able to push my baby out because I couldn't feel anything!!! There were a lot of complications, including being premature. I guess, it just turned out well and physically it didn't pain me much or anything. </p> <p>My recovery, though, was terrible. I wanted to clarify that the reason it was a negative experience was because I had pre-eclampsia, was on magnesium for 4 days, ended up having my son at 27 weeks, he was sent immediately to the NICU and I didn't see him for hours. So, under a normal circumstance I don't know how bad a c section would be. My recovery was fairly easy. There is good and bad to everything. My c section wasn't traumatic I just am sad that it happened and I'm left wondering if I should have fought harder to not be induced. Positive experience and positive recovery. I was induced at 41 weeks and had an epidural. Everything went very well, although there was a lot of waiting. Pushed for about 50 minutes. I had one second degree tear, and recovery went pretty smoothly.
