I thought first children were people-pleaders but middle children are good with relationships/people. Anyway the lists I've seen are a little different. I only have one 16mo old w one on the way so can't say 😃

So far it describes my 2 really well! The same could be said for my brother and I.

I always found birth order to be interesting and so a friend sent me this not to long ago.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/birth-order-personality-study_55ad053ce4b0caf721b32fac

It basically says that every child is different (duh!) and so different children need different ways of parenting. Most parents figure out what works best for their first child and use that same parenting style with their other kids which may be the reason for the birth order personalities. Well something along these lines.

First born is controlling and competitive. He is NOT cautious or structured.

The first born traits describe my first born exactly. My second is still young - 1.5 - so I'm not totally sure yet. But so far she seems an awful lot like her sister...

I was just looking up the stereotypes of birth order and personality, to see if they apply to my own kids!

<< Firstborns often tend to be: reliable, conscientious, structured, cautious, controlling, achievers.

Middle children tend to possess the following characteristics: people-pleasers, somewhat rebellious,
thrive on friendships, have large social circle, peacemaker

The baby of the family tends to be: fun-loving, uncomplicated, manipulative, outgoing, attention-seeker, self-centered

Only children tend to be: mature for their age, perfectionists, conscientious, diligent, leaders >>

http://www.parents.com/baby/development/social/birth-order-and-personality/

I don't think the first-born personality applies to my eldest, but the last-born personality fits pretty well for my youngest! Except she doesn't really look for attention... she's just a honey badger and does whatever she wants!

Do the birth order personalities tend to hold true for your kids?
