Pizza it is! Thanks everyone! I'll probably do fruit cups and other snacky stuff but this place orders the pizza for you so it's super easy for me! (And I'll update the invite so people know there will be pizza and cake.)

Pizza! I don’t think that’s too early for a toddler dinner at all. ESP after a bunch of running around. Today my almost 4yo had dinner at 4pm because he had camp 9-3 and was starving, he scarfed an entire burger.

I’d do pizza and maybe a veggie and fruit tray or something.
I would also include pizza for adults and maybe a small sandwich platter if you think your crowd would prefer, but honestly with kids parties I never expect more than pizza and I’m kinda glad to not have to think about one meal that day 😂

I would also do pizza. I feel like kids will always eat that, no matter the time. And have some snacks like popcorn and cut up fruit out (my friend recently did that and just had it out on the tables in cute cups and the kids actually ate something healthy!).

But either way I think specifying in the invite is extremely helpful. Like to silly picky daughter won’t eat many sandwiches so knowing that’s what it was would be good too.

@LBee: Exactly this! I'm sure there will be people that don't read or forget, but for me that's good enough to know.

And of course, pizza is the fail safe.

I think either works, but I would specify on invitation what you plan to serve saying either: "snack and cake" or "pizza and cake." I wouldn't care either way ultimately, but like to know what to expect.

I would go with pizza or like a party sub cut into kid sized portions.

I would be fine with whatever you served...I would make it easy on myself and do pizza, but I really like the mini sandwiches idea. That was done at a party we attended once and it was an absolute hit. The kids loved it.

For a party from 3-5, I would assume that there would be dinner food (probably either pizza or hot dogs) and plan my own life accordingly, so that’s what I vote for.

I’d also do pizza. Cheap, easy, and most kids will eat it. Parents might also be happy that dinner is taken care of for the kids and if they are hungry later, then can just get a snack before bed.

I think I would do something like fruit and popcorn. Light, healthyish and the kids might still have room for dinner later.

I say go with pizza. It's a tireless favorite and quick meal. Plus inexpensive, depending on where you get it.

Just my two cents.

Need some advice. My son is having his 4th birthday party at a bounce house place. The party is from 3-5. The center usually has the kids come into the party room for the last 30-40 minutes - so in this case around 4:20-4:30. What should I serve for food? Just snacks? I don't want to just do cake but also realize its too early for dinner.
