I agree, playroom will be a great idea. We were in a similar situation for my nephew's party, so one activity we did was a coloring contest and another was cookie decorating. Some kids chose to play and others were entertained with coloring and decorating.

I think a play room filled with toys is awesome. Kids love having free access to play and make a mess with toys in an area!

We had DD"s party this weekend and I told DH that we could of just had the party in the playroom since they loved the "open play" time

Lo's party is this Saturday from 3-5. It was supposed to be a laid back backyard party to hang out with friends. Unfortunately it's going to rain so the party will be inside. There will be about 10 kids here (plus 4-5 newborns under 3 months)(a few young toddlers, a few young elementary, some inbetween). I think I'm going to set up lo's bedroom as a "construction zone", removing his floor bed (super easy to put in our room) and get out all of his cars, trucks, blocks and building toys. Do I need to plan additional activities? We have a small house (one story) and I think this will help keep the kids contained/occupied a bit without tying up all of my attention.
