I voted to have pizza or tacos but I take it back since you put on the invite that there will just be snacks and cupcakes. I think that’s fine. If the invite didn’t specify that I’d say get a couple of pizzas too.

I had my son’s birthday party last weekend from 1-3. I had fruit and veggies, popcorn and veggie straws, and cheese croissants in addition to cake. None of it got eaten.

@Foodnerd81: the invite says "join us for snacks, cupcakes, and laughs from (well known kids entertainer)".

I would have done a taco bar because I was schooled that you have to feed people, but I know most kids pretty well and they will eat lunch around 11:30. I wanted an earlier party, but I could only get a 1pm slot. The only one who eats that late is my youngest and he will feast on hummus and cheese.

I would have extra goody bags ready. We had a birthday party yesterday and the number of kids (siblings) who showed up without responding was greater then the number of no shows. That being said, I don’t think the goody bags need to be the same, just grab something just in case.

For me, even if the numbers works our, I would really stress not having enough so it would be worth the peace of mind.

Just an update, everyone has RSVPed. We are one goody bag short, so my 21 month old will get a fake goody bag of snacks. We are all set!

I think you are safe to assume no. Although I’m totally crazy and would make a couple spares with other stuff (like, throw in a pack of gummies and goldfish) just in case. (This is a crazy thing I do 😂).

And snacks are great but I always like that to be spelled out in the invite or an email reminder. But I would assume that was the case at that time frame.

Just snacks are good for that time of day. Most people should have had lunch prior.

I wouldn’t worry about goodie bags. In my experience no response equals a no. I’ve yet to have someone not respond and show up in four years of friend birthday parties.

There are always no-shows with a group as big as 24. Even if the non responders come, you will likely have extra bags. (Though I always do count on non responders, so often people reply at the 48 hour prior to event evite reminder)

My son is having his 4th birthday party next weekend at a community center with a child entertainer. The party is from 1-3. Two questions:

- I have goody bags for all of the kids who RSVPed and their siblings who RSVPed. There's 2 kids (with 2 siblings) who did not RSVP despite reminder emails and a text. Can I assume they're not coming and not make them goody bags? I have 24 bags and everything in them only comes in packs of 24. It would be pretty expensive to get stuff as a just in case.

- I was planning on doing snacks for the party: veggies and hummus, cheese and crackers, fruit, and chips and guac. I don't need to provide a meal at that time, right? There will be plenty of food, just nothing hot.
