@Mama Bird: in my experience, I almostseshd only get rsvps that are “yes” and everyone who doesn’t rsvp doesn’t come. I had a lot of anxiety about this the first few school friend invite rounds but at least for our group this has held true.

I always rsvp yes or no but that does not seem very common anymore.

The day after my RSVP deadline I left notes in the cubbies of all the kids I hadn’t heard from. Anybody I didn’t hear from, I assumed wasn’t coming and I was right. I think people see the invite, think “I’ll reply later”, and then forget. A reminder note that the deadline has passed helped a lot.

No one replies anymore. I just had DS1's birthday party. Out of 24 classmates, only 3 parents replied (1 yes, 2 no). Two showed up that didn't reply.

Is it common for people to just not RSVP to invitations? And do they tend to show up anyway if they hadn't responded? What's your experience?

Trying to plan a party where I kind of need to know how many people to expect. I don't know the parents of some of DS's school friends, so I had to pass them the invites through the teacher, but only one person out of seven replied :meh:
